Grit and Grace
How to Find Clarity and Optimism in Overwhelming Situations
When life knocks you down—through a diagnosis, a divorce, a loss, or simply a difficult season—it can be hard to know how to get back up. Sometimes you’re too exhausted to move forward. Other times you have the will but not the roadmap. Grit and Grace is a survival guide for life’s adversities that helps you rise again with hope, clarity, and courage.
The Story Behind Grit and Grace
Two years ago, a dear friend—and fellow author—encouraged me to start writing my story. She simply said, “Pick up your pen, find a comfortable place, and begin. Don’t worry about the destination.” So I did.
With a cup of tea, Morgan Wallen playing in the background, and my dog Oliver curled at my feet, I began writing. What started as aimless journaling evolved into a powerful journey of self-discovery. I wrote on planes and trains, soccer sidelines, school pickup lines, and quiet library corners. As I explored my past, I wove in tools from positive psychology, resilience practices, and coaching techniques.
The process helped me make sense of my cancer journey—and the shared experiences of my husband and sister-in-law. It reminded me of what I value, who I want to be, and how I want to live.
I hope it meets you where you are—and lifts you toward where you want to be.
Sometimes we just need a gentle nudge back to ourselves.
From Reflection to Transformation
This single journal page is more than lines and prompts—it’s a soft landing place for your thoughts, your hope, and your voice. I created it to help you slow down, listen inward, and begin shifting the stories you tell yourself. It’s a practice in grace, in gratitude, and in planting seeds of change—one word at a time. You don’t need all the answers… just the space to begin.
